Your privacy, in plain English
We are a family in Pottstown who render tallow by hand. We are not a data company, and we have no interest in becoming one. Here is exactly what happens to your information when you shop with us. No fine print, no hidden clauses, nothing you need a lawyer to understand.
We never sell your information
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. There is no version of this business where that changes.
We do not follow you around the internet
No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no Meta or Google ad networks watching where you go next.
We do not store your IP address
It is scrambled into an unreadable code the instant it arrives, and the original is never written down.
That is the whole policy in three sentences. Everything below is simply the detail, for anyone who would like it.
What we collect, and why
Only what is genuinely needed to send you your order and answer your questions. Nothing is collected “just in case”.
When you place an order
Your name, email, shipping address and phone number: the things needed to actually get a jar of tallow balm to your door. Payment is handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your card number.
When you join our email list
Your email address, and only if you asked us to. We keep it so we can send you new products, restocks and offers, which is the whole point of the list. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and we will never pass your address to anyone else.
When you message us
Whatever you choose to tell us, kept so we can answer you properly and remember the conversation next time.
When you chat with Marvin
Marvin is an AI, not a person, and the notice at the top of the chat says so before you type anything. What you write is sent to the AI provider that runs the model so it can reply, and we may keep the conversation to improve it and to answer you properly. Please do not type your card number into the chat: it is a conversation tool and was never built to carry payment details. The cart is the right place and it is safe, see below. Marvin can also be wrong, so anything that matters is worth confirming with us.
Your card, and the one place not to type it
When you check out you are handed to our payment processor and you enter your card on their encrypted page, not on ours. The card number never touches a T&B Luxe server, we never see it, and we could not produce it if we tried. All we keep is the ordinary record of the sale: what you bought, what you paid, and the receipt reference. If you ever think a card number reached us by mistake, email us and we will find it and delete it.
When you simply browse
Which pages were opened, roughly how long each was on screen, and whether the visit came from a search engine or a link. No name attached, because we do not have one.
How we measure the website
This website uses privacy-first analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Our analytics never store your IP address, set advertising cookies, or follow you across other websites, and we never sell your information to anyone. The data only tells us which pages are useful and how people found us.
When you place an order or sign up for our emails, we do keep the details you give us and we use your email address to send you offers and news. From then on we can also see which pages you looked at here, including the ones you read before you ever got in touch, so we know what you were actually shopping for. It is this shop only; we cannot see what you do anywhere else, and every email we send has a working unsubscribe link.
Your IP address is converted into an irreversible code the moment it reaches the server and is never written down. That code lets us tell a repeat visit from a new one; it cannot be turned back into an address, and until you tell us who you are we cannot put a name to it.
We do this so we know which products people are looking for and which pages are confusing. These are the same things we would learn by watching someone browse the shop in person, and no more.
Prefer not to be counted at all?
Turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser settings and our analytics switch themselves off completely for you. No pop-up to dismiss, no banner to click, and the site works exactly the same.
Cookies
We use the bare minimum needed to make a shop work: remembering what is in your cart, and keeping you signed in if you have an account. That is it.
There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers, which is why you have not been asked to dismiss a cookie banner. We would rather not use anything that needs one.
Your information is yours
Email us at any time and we will act on it. No forms, no hoops, no asking why.
See it
Ask what we hold about you and we will send it over.
Correct it
Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
Delete it
Ask us to remove you and we will, except where we are legally required to keep order records.
Stop the emails
Use the unsubscribe link, or just tell us. Either works.
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and nothing longer. If you have never ordered and never signed up, we do not have anything that identifies you at all.
